pitching our idea

Pitching our idea to Dan, Micky and Marissa
As we were told on Tuesday’s lesson, we would have to be pitching our ideas to the class, over the last few days I put together a power point with different slides which we had to talk about the following areas:
· Key images/ icons/props
· The setting/location
· Lighting
· Camerawork
· Music
· Audience
I had researched where we could find copyright free music and I had found one on a website (http://freeplaymusic.com/index.php), however to make sure we could use it I emailed the contact person and asked them if we could use it for our work making it certain we would be allowed to use it even if it was shown in the cinema to fellow media students and teachers. The women contacted me and said it was fine to use. I download a selection of music which was available and sounded thrilling and spine chilling.
In today’s lesson we had extra time to prepare for the pitch, Lisa wrote down the main plot/ narrative on sugar paper as we had a very basic storyline on the power point, also we wrote down the key icons and images which we wrote on sugar paper. (We cello taped the voodoo doll on to the paper and stuck pins in it, which was quite fun).
We were the second group to go up and pitch in front of the 2/3 “X Factor judges” and the rest of the class. As we talked through the power point and made the class hear the music we may be using, it looked like the class and judges were quite pleased with our idea. We were complimented on our power point which made us very pleased, also by getting feedback from Dan and Micky that they were very happy with our idea and which was different, we will now make sure we have a great film as we described it in our pitch hopefully everything goes to plan.
After everyone done their pitches, we planed what we will be doing on the following week, when we start to film. We made the following time table and also will be making a story board.

• Props: candles, Dan’s books, note book with cutting in it (few pages), voodoo doll, pins, bottles with corkscrew, black paint/ink, pile of chalks, matchsticks, black cloth/black paper, pen.
