Editing Day 4

Today at lunch with Nasima, and after, when the rest of the college has their third lesson, I worked on editing the thriller again. I'm starting to like it a bit better, but I still think we're having problems making it run smoothly. I have watched a re-watched the Arlington Road title sequence today, and I do think that it has a lot of the same features - and we use a lot of the same effects, like negative colours, and hand held, shaky camera angles. It is hard making it look very similar though, when not all of our clips have effects on them, and the ones in Arlington Road do.

Our thriller opening is not based on action. Our main focus is our Mise-En-Scene and our effects to create atmosphere, rather than have someone run away from a knife-wielding maniac. We don't have a vast range of camera angles - most of them are close ups - but that is to create effect. Never showing the whole of our scene, such as the whole face, or the whole table, adds to the mystery and suspense. We don't have music for it yet, but I shall be looking tonight on the website that allowed Nasima to use the songs. We need something fast paced and haunting.
