editing during the holidays

Last week Thursday (12th February) we started to edit the footage in our lunch time, we only done around 9 seconds, as we were trying out different effects and getting use to using the effects on the apple Macs.
Today 16th February I, Lisa and Layla went into college during our half term holiday to do some more editing. As I was the first to come in I started arranging the footage and modified some of the clips, I also started to add in the credits.
On some of the shots we added effects like negative colourings, discoloration. As we added fade, overlay transitions to go from one clip to the other we showed it to both our teachers and technicians. One of our teachers wanted the fade and overlay for transitions but 2 of them didn’t, but still wanted a constant flow. As the beginning few seconds had its effects and the clips had been over layered so that the transition looked smooth and also the image looking blurry in a good way, we started to jus put other clips in order before editing.
We also showed our the beginning clip to the teachers, so we could see if they understood what was happening because our footage will be made up to a montage. They understood it so we were very pleased. we added effects to the beginning clips to grab the audience attention, after this there is a different sequence and only the outside scenes will be distored. these scenes are of churches, gravestone etc we've chose to distort them as we wanted to show the audience that these things aren't normal but evil.
We added more of the clips but we didn’t edit them. As we added the clips it increases the time to around a minute but after we edited it went down a lot, this annoyed me as we had a lot of footage and wasn’t that long. After we go back to college, my lunchtime and the last 3 lessons will be spent finish editing and putting on the music.
